I just submitted the Portfile for Lighttpd 1.4.7 to Darwinports. There may be a lag before it’s available, but I’ve got it working great on my local machine. The new Portfile also includes a copy of lighttpd.conf, which I’d love to be able to install to a default location, but I’m not quite sure how to do that yet. _Anyone got any advice?_
I’m also considering bundling a ruby script for starting and stopping lighttpd (ala apachectl) as soon as I wrok some bugs out in my own implementation.
Happy hosting!

I’d be interested in helping write the start/stop script. I’m pretty good with ruby, less so with lighttpd.
How about a StartupItem for /Library/StartupItems instead. I set one up for my system today. I tried to post it here, but received errors.
lighttpd 1.4.8 was released about a week ago. My darwinports still lists 1.4.4 as the most recent version (even after syncing).
Also, for some reason lighttpd does not show up on the darwinports website under available ports.
Will the update be available soon?
I’m hoping the delay is just the Thanksgiving delay, but I’ve updated the Portfile to 1.4.8… it was my fault the 1.4.7 update did not go through, however, as I neglected to assign the bug for committing.
As far as showing up on the website… I’m really not sure what that’s about. I’ll file a bug on it
Alright, it is back. The layout design is new. Still waiting for that update
Another error–
^^That is cited from the darwin ports website, on the lighttpd page. http://lighttpd.darwinports.com/
