I had no idea that having a low [Slashdot][1] (news site for geeks) ID had become such a status symbol, but apparently it has. I just read a prominent tech industry leader note that his ID was ‘in the 400,000′ range.
Well, I didn’t realize just _how early_ into the dot-com boom I jumped in.
My Slashdot ID is #1,975. Less than 2,000 readers registered before I did. I can only imagine how many registered readers they have now if having an id of less than half a million is something to brag about… heh!
