On Front Street

J and I are spending the day in Lahaina today. Well, she’s working and I’m hanging out near the [Banyan Tree][1], behind the [Pioneer Inn Grill & Bar][2], partaking of their free wireless access, listening to a ukelele player strum his strings lightly. Even he seems a little less motivated to pluck out the tunes that make his living today; perhaps the warmth, even in the shade, has something to do with it.

At the [Old Lahaina Book Emporium][3] today, I picked up a used copy of Donald Norman’s _[The Psychology of Everyday Things][4]_ (later renamed _The Design of Everyday Things_, a much more well-known title). As focused as I am on developing usable systems, this seemed like one of those important works that could really revolutionize the way I look at interfaces, despite the age of the work itself.

I’ve worked on [Doing Great Things!][5] and added the first true entry. Not everything is functional yet, nor is the design complete, but feel free to visit the site and share your comments!
